Brought to us by our amazing Student Council, RUSTCO, this week is RCI’s spirit week! And what better week than the week before the Winter Holiday Break!

Congratulations VP Ardell

On Wednesday, December 13, 2017, the Board approved Principal/Vice-Principal promotions and transfers which resulted in administrative changes to our school. One our very much adored VPs, Mrs. Ardell was promoted to Principal of Parkdale CI.

We acknowledge the outstanding service and contributions Mrs. Ardell has made to our RCI community and we will miss her greatly! We congratulate her and wish her very well at PCI!

BSA Kwanzaa Celebration

The RCI BSA is looking forward to Thursday, December 21st as they bring us Kwanzaa Celebration! Join us in the AUD! All are welcome as we spend time together, share our successes and celebrate before the winter break. Light refreshments & treats will be served!

Albion Hills Leadership Camp

RCI Grade 10 students will have the amazing opportunity to participate in a Leadership Camp at Albion Hills Conservation Area starting Friday, December 15-December 17th.  We look forward to hearing about all the amazing experiences they come back with especially their opportunities to make new friends and bond over leadership activities and events. A big Thank you to our Teacher supervisors and Teacher Volunteers who are assisting with the retreat!

Preparations are underway for the Annual RCI Holiday Bash brought to you by RUSTCO!!

We cannot wait to see our students showcase their talents at this fun, energetic and hilarious holiday show! Thank you to RUSTCO for organizing the auditions and getting things all set!

RCI’s Holiday Cookie Challenge

We are getting into the Holiday Spirit! The RCI Me to We team brings RCI students an amazing opportunity to spread holiday cheer and the gift of giving by participating in a Holiday Cookie Challenge! This “Fun”draiser brings together RCI clubs to raise funds for underprivileged children providing school supplies, clothing, shoes, blankets and other necessities.

We look forward to seeing and tasting the cookies that are made!

Reminder: Second Test Date for MASTERS Program

This is a reminder that there is a scheduled Second Test date for the Masters Program on December 18th, 2017 @ 3:30 PM

Registration will take place in front of the test room, 127. The test will commence at 3:45 PM

On Saturday, December 9th, 2017 RCI was proud to host the First Lego League (FLL) Tournament! This will be the seventh year that Runnymede’s FIRST Robotics team (Team 1310) has run the FLL Tournament. This year, 33 teams from around the TDSB attended the tournament with about 250 students!

Fun fact: over 250,000 students in 88 countries participate! 

And we are just thrilled to be apart of this amazing opportunity for our students!

Team Registration & Pit Setup: 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.

Opening Ceremonies: 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.

Speakers: Robin Pilkey, TDSB Chair,  Paul Edwards, Principal

Judging Sessions and Practice Rounds: 8:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m

LUNCH – 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Callbacks: 12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.

Official Robot Matches: 1:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Awards and Closing Ceremonies 4:30 – 5:00 p.m.
