Welcome To Runnymede
Welcome to another school year at Runnymede Collegiate. It has been a busy two and a half months since the start of school both inside and outside the classroom for our students. We welcomed approximately 110 grade 9’s in September. To help ensure their transition from Grade 8 to 9 is as smooth as possible we have a number of supports and activities in place to ensure they have a solid foundation upon which to achieve academic success. This newsletter accompanies the first formal report of the school year and as you read this, we are over half way through the first semester. As a staff we meet every Wednesday morning within our professional learning communities structure. This staff development initiative is designed to provide time for teachers to work collaboratively together in school and subject based teams, sharing expertise, ideas and strategies for improving student achievement. All teachers are members of both a subject and school based team.
